What to Expect During Your First Appointment

  1. Complete Intake Forms:

You’ll fill out forms providing insurance details, medical history, medications, and any ear-related symptoms. This information helps your hearing professional assess your condition thoroughly. You’ll also be asked to sign an Informed Consent form so we can share your personal information with your physician and/or benefit provider.

  2. Consultation:

You’ll talk about specific hearing difficulties, lifestyle needs, and expectations. This helps personalize your care beyond what the test results show.

  3. Otoscopy:

Your ears will be checked with an otoscope to identify any visible issues, such as earwax buildup or abnormalities.

  4. Comprehensive Hearing Test:

A series of tests may be performed, including:

    •     Tympanometry (eardrum flexibility)
    •     Tone tests (hearing sensitivity at different pitches)
    •     Speech tests (to identify word recognition
  5. Review Results & Recommendations:

Your results will be explained, along with recommendations which may include medical referrals, follow-ups, or hearing aids, depending on the findings.
